Nir Shah Honored by PM Oli

Cine artist Nir Shah was honored with 'Dirgha Sadhana' award at an event organized by Nepal Film Artists' Association in the capital on Friday.  Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli who was there in the event said films do have the power to change the society and films should be produced for social awareness. According to PM Oli, he will make all the efforts possible to assist the film industry from the government side. 2 Killed 32 Injured: Pharping Bus Accident

Two people lost there life in a bus accident today in Pharphing, Kathmandu. The bus on its way to Kathmandu from Dakshinkali, lost its control falling into a pothole causing the accident. 42 years old Manju Basnet and 25 years old Sunil Shrestha both of Daskshinkali Municipality lost there life on the spot. Remaining injured were rushed to hospitals in the capital, informed DSP at Metropolitan Range Mohan Thapa. New Born Found Dead In Bajura District

On Tuesday in Bhaunerako River in Badimalika Municipality-2 of Bajura a new born was found dead, trapped in a fishing net planted in the river by the locals to catch fish. Locals informed police as soon as they found the dead new born. The mother of the new born has been found and is kept under police surveillance following the order of district court of Bajura. It is yet to find out if the mother is responsible or is involved in the incident in any way. 2 Dead After Fuel Tanker Plunged In Udayapur

On Tuesday night, two people died on the spot after a fuel tanker (Na 6 Kha 3231) plunged in Udayapur leaving 3 injured in Katri Municipality-11, of Udayapur district. Driver Purna Prasad Khanal (23) of Amalekhganj Municipality-4 in Bara district and passenger Saroj Moktan (31) of Namtar in Makawanpur district died on the spot whereas Subas Tamang (24) of Bhaktapur, Abhishek Shrestha (17) of Nijgadh in Bara and Sujan Gole (25) of Charikot in Dolakha were critically injured and are rushed to a health facility in Kathmandu. The fuel tanker en route from Katari to Ghurmi lost its control and plunged 1,000 meters below the road somewhere around 2:00 AM yesterday killing two and injuring three. Assistant Sub-inspector Arrested for Raping 14-year-old Girl

On the charge of raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl ASI Prem Thatal of Nawamidanda Police Station in Panchthar was arrested yesterday. After it cam to light that he raped and impregnated a teenage girl, a team from District Police Office, Panchthar, arrested ASI Thatal. Father of the 14-year-old girl told that ASI Thatal raped his daughter three months ago for the first time and gave her Rs 500. After that, he repeatedly raped her, claimed victim's father. ASI handled Rs 1000 note to victim's mother when she called him at home and inquired about the incident. ASI also promised to take the victim to the headquarters for treatment. Victim's father told that, ASI took him and his daughter on his motorcycle and kept them in a hotel in Phidim. Nepal Government ensures safety of Nepalese in Saudi Arabia

Following missiles attack in Saudi Arabia by rebels from neighboring Yemen, government of Nepal directed its embassy in Saudi Arabia to ensure the safety of Nepalese in Saudi. Almost around 350,000 Nepalese are currently working in different cities of Saudi Arabia and to ensure there safety Nepal Government have directed its embassy in Saudi Arabia to closely monitor the situation and make sure Nepalese are not affected in any way said, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Mr. Bharat Raj Poudel. Saudi government on Monday informed its air defense destroyed seven missiles that Yemeni rebels launched on Sunday. Bike hits cycle kills one

A motorcycle hit a bicycle in Surunga Municipality-05 of Saptari district on Sunday night killing the motorcyclist Rajiv Kumar Chaudhary of Sukhipur Municipality-4 in Siraha district and injured Bhuneshwar Chaudhary of Bodebarsain Municipality-8 in Saptrai and Mahesh Thakur of Surunga Municipality-8 of Saptari district. According to the Area Police Office, Kadarbona, the incident took place on the road in Kusaha around 9:30 PM yesterday when the motorcycle hit the cycle. After the incident, they were taken to Divine Hospital of Lahan where the motorcyclist Rajiv breathed his last while other two are undergoing treatment. Four People Arrested In Nepal Over Alleged Cow Killing

JITPUR, KAPILVASTU : Four persons were arrested on the charge of cow slaughter from Bijaypur Rural Municipality-4 in Kapilvastu district on Saturday. The arrested Hum Bahadur Rana, Kumari Gharti, Ram Kumari Gharti and Kunti Thapa identified are the local residents. Police arrested Rana from Jyotinagar on Friday night with 30 kilograms of beef. According to the police, during interrogation Rana confessed killing of cow. After Rana's confession, police on Saturday arrested  Kumari Gharti, Ram Kumari Gharti and Kunti Thapa  for their collusion on the crime. Cow is the national animal of Nepal and its slaughter is prohibited by Nepal's law. All the arrested have been detained at the Krishnanagar Police Office and further investigation into the case is going on, informed Khim Bahadur Gham, Chief of Area Police Office, Ganeshpur.
