New Nepali Movie "Shatru Gate" Review ft. Hari Bansha Acharya & Madan Krishna Shrestha

There was a time when if anyone would ask me who my favorite Nepali actor is I would say Hari Bansha Acharya and Madan Krishna Shrestha as they didn’t only entertained me and made my childhood precious they also taught me many things. But today time has changed I can’t say the MaHa Duo are my favorite actor any more at least after I watched their latest cinematic ride “Shatru Gate”. I know I don’t have that standard to be able to judge a movie which do have the legends of the Film Industry thus I will only express my views.

ACTOR’s PERFORMANCE
Let’s start with the actors of the movie starting with Hari Bansha Acharya who is playing the character of Paul Shah’s father and is married to Deepa Shree Niraula. Hari Bansha Acharya has done a great job or let’s say an outstanding job if it was 90’s. His performance reminds me of the character Badri which he played in “Tan Ta Sarai Bigrris Ni Badri” back in 2000. Deepa Shree Niraula is wasted and looks ugly in the movie. Paul Shah, whose acting skills we saw earlier in the masterpiece “Ma Yesto Geet Gauchu” succeeds to torture us again with his brilliant performance. Aanchal Sharma is in movie because we Nepalese love to see beautiful girl in silver screen doesn't matter if she can act or not.

Let’s now talk about the man himself Mr. Deepak raj Giri who earlier succeeded to earn lots of money torturing Nepali cine lovers and this time he is seen as a Don opposite his favorite Priyanka Karki whose father he looks like but still manages to romance her. Priyanka Karki as a police officer in the movie is like Chingam as Police Inspector in Motu Patlu. The other stars of the movie Kiran K.C [who is also the producer of the movie], Basundhara Bhusal and Shivhari Poudel forced us to believe that we are watching daily soap in silver screen.
Lastly the only actor who managed to entertain and give justice to the movie is Madan Krishna Shrestha who looks so bad romancing girls, who are younger than his granddaughter looks good and reminds us time and again that this movie is going to bring shit out of us.

STORY SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES
Let’s now talk about the story written by the legend Hari Bansha Acharya and scripted by Pradeep Bhattrai which is actually inspired by the once super hit television drama “15 Gate”. The screenplay is extremely boring and do have dialogues which are not even as funny as Nokkali Fuchhi’s Facebook status.

DIRECTON AND TECHNICAL ASPECT
Pradeep Bhattrai, the director of the movie seems to have talent and looks like he understands the art of film making LOL it was a joke. Trust me; my fingers were not enough to count how many continuity mistakes was there in the film. Hats off Director Shaab !
Music is the relief point in the movie but unfortunately the background score is irritating. Cinematography is good but again Editing is wasted.

RATING
I will give this movie a rating of 1.5 stars out of 5 stars.

LAST WORDS
Unfortunately, this might be the last movie we could see of MaHa Duo thus you have to watch this movie if you want to experience them in silver screen one last time. But if you don’t like illogical movies worst then that of 90’s better stay home.
Regards
Prince Babu
