Rani Mukherjee is now back with her movie Hichki produced under the banner of her husband's production company YRF which is also the biggest film production company of India. A lot of hype was created around the movie as many Bollywood celebrities praised the movie as Rani Mukherjee's best performance yet. So, lets discuss how the movie is in real.
Rani Mukherjee who is doing the lead role of Naina Mathur, a teacher having Tourette syndrome has done a brilliant job in the film. Supriya Pilgaonkar as Sudha, Harsh Mayaar as Aatish, Sachin Pilgankar as Naina's father and Shivkumar Subramaniam as Principal have done a good job in the film.
Performance wise the film is good.
Well the story of the film is directly inspired from the English movie Front Of The Class and Hindi movie Paathshaala starring Shahid Kapoor. There is nothing new in the story of this movie. We have seen this type of story many time earlier.
The screenplay of the film is predictable which makes us loose our interest in the movie.
Dialogue of the film is okay but many time Hiccup in between the dialogue makes it bad.
Director Sidharth P Malhotra looks confused and old fashioned. He tries to bring tears in our eyes with some over dramatic scenes but fails hugely.
Talking about some technical aspect of the movie, cinematography by Avinash Arun is good but editing fails to impress us. Music of the film is irritating as it comes time and again when there was no need of any music so is the background score of the film.
I will give this movie 2 stars out of 5 stars.
Lastly, this movie is for old fashioned Hindi movie lovers and die hard fans of Rani Mukherjee only.
